    Maria Farantouri   with Achilleas Wastor (pianist), Heracles Zakkas (bouzouki) and Alexandros Botinis (cello) interpret Epitaph by Mikis Theodorakis & Yannis Ritsos and other songs from Greek repertory relative to the mood of the Holy Week. Special guest: singer Tassos Apostolou (bass).  Attention: during the concert there will be the world premiere of the Arcadia IX song, composed in 1969 in Zàtouna: Η μητέρα του εξόριστου, The Mother of the Exiled, poetry: Kostas Kalantzis

    A Tribute to Mikis Theodorakis ~   Maria Farantouri   has been associated with legendary Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis and his music for more than 40 years. Accompanied by a 7-piece ensemble she sings some of his best-loved songs, as well as selections by other Greek composers and musical arrangements of 20th-century poetry. Heracles Zakkas – bouzouki & mandolin, Alexandros Botinis – cello, Petros Klampanis – bass, David Lynch – saxophone and flute, Christos Rafalides – vibraphone, Engin Kaan Gunaydin – percussion, Achilleas Wastor – music director and piano.
